    For the last 30 years Saint has been working at the interface between the animation, computer games, VFX industries and Higher Education, with a mission to produce quality talent for the UK’s creative industries.

    Escape Studios was the first Unreal Engine Authorized training center in the UK and Saint’s team created courses and training opportunities for the UKs VFX and animation industry, and also Escape’s own Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. He curates the annual Industry panels at the London International Animation Festival.

    Recently he has been leading a range of Virtual Production courses for Producers, VFX Supervisors and Unreal artists.

After graduating from Stuttgart Media University in 2000 he moved to California and worked at Eyematic Interfaces. In 2003 he joined Filmakademie to supervise R&D, engage as senior lecturer for the Technical Directing course and FMX program consultant. In 2013 Volker received the honorary professorship of Filmakademie.

His most recent projects include three intro cinematics for a Marvel-themed computer game (Midnight Suns by 2K) and real-time virtual production environments for a full feature film (Knights of the Zodiac, Sony Pictures, release date 2023).
