For the first time, we are opening up the ANIMATION PLAYGROUND, a multi-story playful universe with real animation magic.
We are converting the Student House at VIA University College into ANIMATION PLAYGROUND open for families all weekend.

Experience the storytelling cave, where you can dive into the fantastic illustrative narratives and universes found in Danish literature.

Play with an abundance of creative expressions. Create funny, fantastic, romantic or dramatic animation films with different animation techniques, such as GIFs, turntable animation, collage animation, pixilation, cut out and many more.

Build with Mouse and Crane in the mechanics workshop: Mouse and Crane is a Danish concept consisting of games, films and books, which in a fun and engaging way inspire children to build and come up with ingenious solutions when a problem arises.
In the mechanics workshop, it will be possible to play the game, watch movies and build your very own crazy machines.

A visit to the Animation Playground does not require registration, and you decide for yourself how long you wish to stay.

Together with Karla Nor Holmbäck, the director of the film Roselil KLAR til rettelserog Stentrolden and illustrator Sofie Louise Dam, the children will go on an adventurous journey into the visual universe of the beautiful animated film about Roselil and the Stentrolden.

At the workshop, the class will learn how to create designs for animated films by working with different drawing techniques and materials, and through presentations and hands-on tasks they will get a unique insight into how to create a film from a children’s book.

Together with author Pernille Bønløkke and illustrator Thomas Hjorthaab, the class must come up with rambling, sweet, cheeky rhymes and draw illustrations for them. The pupils will learn a lot about writing funny texts and become good at drawing strange creatures and funny universes.

Author Pernille Bønløkke and illustrator Thomas Hjorthaab have together created the book “Vingummigoplen og røven i tasken” which is definitely worth a look.

This year Disney turns 100 years and of course it must be celebrated with a true children’s birthday at ANIMOK.
That’s why we invite all the city’s children and their adults to a birthday party on Saturday the 30th. at 15-17 in the Animation Playground, where there will be lots of fun drawing activities, such as learn to draw a Disney character, make your own pin, draw with students from The Animation Workshop, dance to well-known Disney music when Viborg FDF/Harmoniorkester play their tunes.

As part of the celebration of Disney 100 years, we are also showing a Disney classic in the cinema on Saturday the 30th at 14.00-15.30
